They are useful pets but can also be finicky their Environment motive appears to not exist, but it is actually just invisible, and it will still affect their mood. Sims and orangutans can also groom each other to boost the Sim’s hygiene and the orangutan’s hunger stats.
They are largely controllable by the player. Their personalities are defined in the same way as a Sim’s personality, as opposed to a dog/cat’s personality. Orangutans: These perform almost like smaller Sims they can get jobs in the same career tracks as normal Sims, earn Body, Logic and Creativity points, and you can direct them to gather fruit from banana trees to add Food supplies.Sims can adopt orangutans and hyenas (jaguars cannot be adopted through normal gameplay). It seems to be more difficult to “get better” than in the regular game. Illness: Sims can still get sick from at least food poisoning, and presumably other standard causes as well. It’s still accessed through “tab” in Neighbourhood View. Cameraman/Free Camera Mode: Can be accessed by pressing “U” on the keyboard (thanks debbycus!).Aspirations: You can only choose from the 5 Basegame aspirations so no Pleasure Seeker (or Grilled Cheese, obviously).
#THE SIMS CASTAWAY STORIES WANMAMI ISLAND FIX HOW TO#
Toddlers are still expected to learn how to walk, talk, and use the potty. Edit: It would appear that Talent Badges still exist within CS, but like many aspects, they are hidden. Although fishing is available, Talent Badges do not exist.
Like in the original game, men who are abducted will come back pregnant with an alien baby. Alien Abduction: After you discover the telescope (it’s a Story Reward - see below), it becomes possible to be abducted by aliens. In addition to these objects, Sims can purchase ReNuYu Porta-Chugs for 3500 Aspiration Points. The Weathernaught 57X, from Seasons, is also available but under the name “Ignis Ex Machina” as a Story Reward (see below). They are the Noodlesoother, Smart Milk, Cool Shades, Energizer, Thinking Cap, SimVac, Love Tub and Elixir of Life. Aspiration Rewards: After Story Mode, your Sim will be able to use Aspiration Points to purchase Aspiration Rewards.During Story Mode, your Sim will have Goals as well, which are like Wants that guide the direction of the story and must be completed before you can move on. Wants: Sims no longer have Fears, but they still have Aspiration Meters and 4 Want Slots (+ one Want Lock).During Story Mode, visiting and discovering Community Lots is a major part of gameplay. Community Lots: Once you’ve finished Story Mode, Sims still go to Community Lots to socialise, meet pets (see below) and buy groceries/new clothes.
However, once they reach a certain point in their Career Track it becomes impossible to be promoted until they become an Adult. However, unique to CS, Teenage Sims are not also restricted to those jobs they can get the same jobs as Adults. Like in the regular Sims 2 game, Elders have a different spectrum of jobs than Adults, and can only be promoted twice. While Job Performance and promotions still exit, there are no penalties for missing days of work. You will receive a notification of when it is time for your Sim to leave for work, and then one more reminder if they miss it your Sim will automatically start to go to work after these notifications and there are no other ways to make them go to work if you cancel the actions.
